UpStage Players Children's Broadway Musical Productions Cleveland, Ohio
UpStage Players started in 1994 when a mother could not seem to find a place for her five daughters to belong, to fit in, to grow, and to thrive.
So, together with her husband and daughters, Mrs. Bernadette Walsh created UpStage Players. The Walsh Family pulled their resources together and produced UpStage's first non-profit children's Broadway production, Camelot, at the Bratenahl Community Center.
What started as a time of frustration for Mrs. Walsh (because she could not find a welcoming group for her daughters) has evolved into a wildly successful, all-inclusive theatre company dedicated to instilling a love of theatre, while building leadership and community.
Since 1994, the Walsh family, parents, children, friends, and family members have come together to create a live Broadway children's production every March.
